Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Beerenauslese

    • Description :

      Gold Capsule: Sweet
      Quality level: Beerenauslese
Vineyard: A portion of the grapes for this wine come from ungrafted vines that are over 80 years old. This famous, extremely steep vineyard site has various levels of complex soil characteristics including a deep, stony layer of Devon slate which
gives Molitor's wines their unique mineral character.
Vinification: The raisins were harvested in November. 100% perfectly selected berries were crushed softly and macerated for
several hours on extremely aromatic grape skins. After maceration, the must was fermented slowly only with natural yeasts. The wine rests on the lees for an extended period of time creating an extremely intense and concentrated unique wine.

      Tasting notes :

"The Auslese is very clear and aromatic on the nose and delivers a perfectly ripe, very precise and elegant stone fruit aroma along with very fine slate and spicy flavors. The wine is highly elegant and delicate in the mouth but also intense and salty, with a long, very stimulating and nicely grippy finish." (Mosel Fine Wines, Issue 38)
