Domaine Clos de la Chapelle
Beaune 1er Cru Champs Pimont
-
Description :
Clos de la Chapelle's 0.63 hectare site nurturing 45 year-old vines is located west of the village up the slope towards 'la montagne' and has iron rich clay soil. Certain historical documents record that this was "champs de M. Pimonts", the "field of Mr. Pimonts"; others believe the vineyard name means "field at the foot of the hill".
The wine is made with the use of 26% new French oak.
Grape varieties :
Pinot Noir
Soil :
Clay
Alcohol :
13.5%
Tasting notes :
This medium dark ruby colored wine underlies the bright aromas of raspberry and violets. The bright fruit profile and balanced mid-palate leads to subtle minerality in the finish.
