Dr. Lippold Wines at the Culinary Institute of America

The Culinary Institute of America has selected Dr. Lippold's 2013 Auslese Ürziger Würzgarten "Weltersberg" for their Bocuse Restaurant. In addition, Professor Weiss demonstrates its style as a textbook example for classic Mosel Riesling in his wine class.

Prior to that, the 2nd edition of the CIA's James Beard award-winning wine book WineWise listed Dr. Lippold as one of their preferred Mosel vintners.

With this recognition, the world-renowned college recognizes the result of Dr. Lippold's minimalistic approach to creating wines with their own personality representing steep slope Mosel viticulture. Based on very old pre-phylloxera vines with lowest yield, the exceptional position of the historic Grand Cru plot on red Devon slate and the unique nanoclimate. Following forgotten tradition the wines are matured in cask and bottle for several years but a minimum of two before first release.
