Deauratus

Deaurātus is owned and run by co-founders Eric Baugher and Shun Ishikubo, longtime Ridge Vineyards (Monte Bello) veterans who launched the label in 2023 as their own small-production project. The name Deaurātus is Latin for "golden," a nod to both their shared pursuit of precision and the "golden-era" reputation they helped build during their years at Ridge.

Based in Northern California's Bay Area/Santa Clara Valley orbit, Deaurātus is built around a single-vineyard philosophy: the team has spent years scouting sites across California and then vinifies small lots designed to reflect each vineyard's character. Their approach is intentionally hands-on—tight control of harvest decisions, fermentation, and élevage, with practices like night picking to preserve freshness and meticulous handling from vineyard to cellar.
