Ernest Vineyards
Cleary Ranch Pinot Noir
-
Description :
Cleary Ranch encompasses the 14 acres of Ernest's vines in foggy Freestone Valley. Only 7 miles from the Pacific, it is one of the coldest areas in all of west Sonoma Coast with the marine layer lingering well into mid-day and returning late afternoon. Goldridge soil with clay peppering closer to Salmon Creek. The extremely cool climate allows for extended hang time before harvest delivering deep complexity.
Grape varieties :
100% Pinot Noir
Alcohol :
12.8%
Tasting notes :
A brilliant ruby red wine with a good concentration of color, very clear. Aromatically speaking, the primary notes are all of fresh red berries and pomegranate seeds and a touch of rhubarb and subtle earthy tones. On the palate, this wine blossoms into a delicious succulent example of cool-climate Pinot Noir, laced with incredible acidity and the right amount of tension. The tannins are very refined and have just enough grip to keep this young wine balanced and harmonious to the fruity finish. The palate continues to be coated with abundant red fruit throughout the tasting experience.
