Tenuta di Trinoro
Palazzi Rosso Toscana IGT
-
Description :
Andrea Franchetti created Palazzi alongside Tenuta di Trinoro, with the goal of producing wines inspired by the Left and Right Banks of Bordeaux. Palazzi reveals a refined elegance and layered complexity, showcasing Merlot grown at high altitudes.
Each vintage comes from the estate's best vineyard parcels, planted on clay-rich soils reminiscent of Bordeaux's Right Bank. It was the encounter with these soils in the 1990s that inspired Franchetti to craft Palazzi. Today, the wine embodies balance and tension, vibrancy and weight, reflecting the distinctive complexity and age-worthiness that define the estate's greatest wines.
Vinification: Took place in stainless-steel tanks, after which the wine aged in French barriques for 8 months. The final blend continued its aging in cement vats for an additional 12 months.
Grape varieties :
100% Merlot
Soil :
Rich in clay, similar to those found on Bordeaux's Right Bank
Tasting notes :
A polished expression built on pure black cherry and blackberry fruit, layered with hints of olive, wild herbs and a stony mineral edge. There's plenty of structure here, yet the overall feel is supple and velvety, holding everything in seamless balance. The finish is bright and energetic, with a lingering salty savoriness.
