Contrada P Nerello Mascalese Terre Siciliane IGT

    • Description :

Contrada Porcaria is considered by many to be one of the best contrade on Etna. The wines from Porcaria are particularly rich and luxurious. The soil is a thin layer of loamy lava which crumbles under one's feet. The vines are 90 years of age. The exposition to the sun at Porcaria is perfect, and it is always the first contrada to ripen and to be picked.
Vinification: Alcoholic fermentation in stainless-steel vats.

      Tasting notes :

An intricate, earthy bouquet of dried cherry, clove, cedar and sage is brightened by a cool touch of menthol. The palate is deep and highly textural, with a silky sweep giving way to layers of mineral-laced fruit and spice. Long and intense on the finish, it lingers with concentrated primary fruit, firm edgy tannins and a lift of residual acidity that keeps everything in balance.
