Bassermann-Jordan
Riesling Grosses Gewächs Hohenmorgen
-
Description :
The Hohenmorgen vineyard is located at the western edge of the town of Deidesheim. Deidesheim is the historical centre of the quality wine-making area of the Palatinate. It is a south-facing slope of only 2.76 ha and is the smallest and most exclusive vineyard of Deidesheim.
The grapes were hand harvested in mid-October. The yield was only 32 hl/ha to assure a concentrated, rich wine. The grapes were carefully pressed and the must was fermented in stainless-steel tank and traditional large oak casks. After the fermentation, the wine rests for 10 months on the lees and is released almost a year after the harvest. 3500 bottles produced.

A rich, almost creamy Riesling with great power and significant aging potential. Aromas of ripe peach and apricot combined with minerality and spice give a lot of character to the wine. Enjoy this wine in its youth for freshness and vitality but it will also continue to age beautifully.
