Description :
Vineyards: Home Vineyard Lower Wairau Valley & Redwood Hills, Awatere Valley - Marlborough
The fruit was harvested in the cool of the morning and transferred to the winery. The individual blocks were fermented separately, mostly in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, but 2% of the blend was barrel fermented. The Koha Sauvignon Blanc was then blended from a selection of batches split across our three complementary vineyard sites.
Grape varieties :
Sauvignon Blanc
Soil :
Wind-blown loess overlying clays, and stony loams
Alcohol :
13%
Tasting notes :
Appealing floral aromatics with notes of citrus and lemongrass, and bright tropical hints of passionfruit and guava. The lemon zest and passionfruit theme carries through the palate, supported by delicate black currant and aniseed notes. The finish is crisp and clean with hints of lingering spice and a touch of chalky minerality.
