Domaine Gérard Brisson

Beaujolais, France

Domaine Gérard Brisson

The Brisson family has lived in Beaujolais, France since 1431. Centuries of experience in this storied region have given them a deep understanding of the terroir and how best to communicate its unique qualities in their wines. The Brissons have been a winegrowers family from father to son for four generations. Michel Brisson, Gérard's father, assumed ownership of Domaine Brisson in 1956. He eagerly devoted himself to introducing modern production methods in the vineyard and cellar and updating the domain's equipment. Gérard joined the family business in 1974 after becoming a winemaker. When his father died in 1980, Gérard carried on the development of the property, with a focus on thoughtful and environmentally sound management practices. Now his son Louis has joined him in managing the business.

For eleven consecutive years Domaine Gérard Brisson has been recognized as a Premier Grand Vin Classé (Guide des Vins de France) for the excellence of their Beaujolais Grand Cru Morgon. Domaine Brisson also holds TERRA VITIS certification for their commitment to sustainable farming in their vineyards. Domaine Brisson has been practicing sustainable viticulture (agriculture raisonnée) since the 1970s.
