Villa Pomona is a 150-year-old family-owned winery located in the heart of the Senese Chianti region of Tuscany right at the confluence of the Castellina in Chianti and Castelnuovo Berardenga districts.
The estate is surrounded by olive groves, forests, pasture and six hectares of vineyards planted predominantly to Sangiovese with a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon and Colorino vines. Villa Pomona produces traditional Chianti Classico of strength and concentration that is representative of this historic region of Tuscany.
Since 2007 Villa Pomona has been run by the founder's great grand-daughter, Monica Raspi, who farms her vineyards with sustainable viticulture practices by using eco-fertilizers and keeping vineyard treatments to a minimum. Monica is currently seeking organic certification for the estate.
Ruggero Mazzilli is Villa Pomona's consulting agronomist and Filippo Paoletti is the consulting winemaker.
