Kaesler Wines

Shiraz Old Vine Barossa Valley

    • Description :

Kaesler Old Vine Shiraz has been consistently produced as an elegant wine, tight in its youth, a wine that is made to age. It represents a different style of Shiraz within the Kaesler portfolio, when compared to its bolder brothers, The Bogan and Old Bastard Shiraz.
The old vines have grown beyond adolescence and are now fully mature. They have a root structure and trunk thickness that encourages diversity of flavor and character. Their worthiness has been proven over many vintages, consistently producing the highest quality fruit for Barossa wines of distinction and longevity.
The fruit was harvested by hand followed by minimal remontage. Once pressed, he wine was then put into 40% medium-grained Allier oak. Over the next 14 months it had time to rest before bottling, with no filtration or finings.

      Grape varieties :

      Shiraz

      Soil :

      Loam over clay

      Tasting notes :

Brooding and alluring with kirsch lavender, vanilla, plums, blackberries and wild flowers on the nose. Silky tannins on entry, with a vast array of red and blue fruits. Tight, assertive, with plenty of room for bottle development.
