Tenuta di Trinoro
Campo di Magnacosta Rosso Toscana IGT
-
Description :
Collezione «I Campi» is a limited-production series of Cabernet Franc that showcases the unique character of three distinct vineyard parcels. The collection began in 2011 with Campo di Magnacosta, when the Cabernet Franc vines had reached maturity and could fully express the personality of their soils. Campo di Tenaglia and Campo di Camagi completed the series in 2014. Campo di Magnacosta is a 1.5-hectare (3.75-acre) vineyard planted on deep, alluvial gravel soils in the estate's lowest section at 400m (1,300ft) above sea level, where an ancient stream disappears beneath the surface. The vines are now 30 years old.
Vinification: Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks, followed by 8 months in French barriques and 12 months in cement vats.
Grape varieties :
100% Cabernet Franc
Altitude :
400m ASL
Vineyard age :
30-year-old vines
Soil :
Gravel and limestone soils in the estate's lowest section, where an old stream disappears beneath the surface.
Tasting notes :
Shows a pale, luminous color, with a bouquet that opens on ripe, fragrant red fruits, complemented by delicate floral notes of blooming mustard and hints of Mediterranean undergrowth from early summer. On the palate, it is vibrant and fresh, evolving gracefully with a long, layered progression and soft, silky tannins. This Cabernet Franc is finely structured and built to age beautifully.
