Maison Noir Wines

In Sheep's Clothing Pinot Noir

    • Description :

Harvest was marked by a temperate growing season with cooler-than-average temperatures, allowing grapes to ripen slowly and evenly. This resulted in wines with vibrant acidity, expressive fruit flavors, and a refined balance of structure and elegance.
The name is a hat tip to Alonzo Harris (Training Day): "to protect the sheep you gotta catch the wolf, and it takes a wolf to catch a wolf." In Sheep's Clothing Pinot Noir has vibrant acidity, expressive fruit flavors, and a refined balance of structure and elegance.
Winemaking: Grapes are carefully selected from vineyard sites in Oregon. 50% of the wine is fermented in stainless steel and 50% in new oak. The wine rests in barrel for eight months before bottling.

In Sheep's Clothing Pinot Noir opens with inviting aromas of black cherry, ripe raspberry, and crushed cranberry, layered with hints of forest floor, fresh thyme, and a touch of cocoa powder. The palate is supple and silky, offering a harmonious balance between its juicy red fruit core and refreshing acidity. Subtle oak influence adds gentle nuances of clove and toasted almond, while soft tannins provide a smooth, lingering finish.
